The drop riffle sluice box is a fantastic piece of kit that should accompany all keen prospectors on their adventures in search of gold. Both sluices are designed to fit comfortably in a 70L backpack, and weigh far less than a conventional metal sluicebox with rubber mats, the Dr Sluice drop riffles are an essential item for anyone who likes propecting more remote areas off the beaten track.

Evolved from the classic drop riffle sluice designs from around the world, known for catching flour gold, this model has been tailored to fit the UK market requirements by UK prospectors themselves. Item specifics include deep side walls to keep river surges from washing over the side of the sluice, while also managing logistical issues such as compact fitment into the rucksack to allow for the Henderson pump to fit neatly inside, maximising your kit storage while maintaining a stealthy hike in and out of your spot.

'The Original' is the first design we created. It has a smaller indicator mat followed by three deep V troughs, then several wide, deep rectangular troughs of varying sizes. Perfect for those long days prospecting where you process large amounts of dirt, and it can be left running all day without needing to be cleaned out regularly.​​​​

'The Prospector' is a shorter, lighter version of our original drop riffle with a slightly larger indicator mat. Weighing in at less than a kilogram, this sluice has shallower troughs to help reduce your concentrates, and will work better in low water levels where the slower flow can sometimes lead to a build up of larger stones in the V troughs at the top of the sluicebox.

'The Hybrid' is our latest model. It has a large indicator mat to help with dispersal of material, and gravels can be shoveled or pumped straight into this sluice easily. Beneath the mat you have several of the deeper, wider troughs from the original, as well as the shallower, narrower troughs from the propsector. This sluice box is longer than the other models, and is a great evolution of the DR Sluice drop riffle, combining the best features of both previous models.
